Renewable Energy Use in Amsterdam

As part of my Master's Thesis in Social and Cultural Anthropology at Vrije Universiteit, I am researching the civic engagement involved with renewable energy production in Amsterdam. This is done mainly through the form of interviews and attending community renewable energy events. I am interested in the following questions:
- How people first become involved with renewable energy.
- Their experience using or working it.
- How they promote more community participation with renewable energy.
- What challenges or successes they encounter as they pursue their energy goals.

Gewenst resultaat I hope to use my final thesis to communicate how individual citizens are using and promoting renewable energy in Amsterdam. What obstacles do they face, and what kind of help do they receive? Increased use of renewable energy at the community level has never been more important. This is why I believe it’s vital to truly understand how people become producers and consumers of renewable energy and encourage their fellow citizens to do the same.
